Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year and ESP of the Year! |
Ms. Wright exemplifies purposeful, student-centered teaching. She creates a classroom environment rooted in structure, care, and high expectations, where students feel supported and challenged to grow. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom—students continue to seek her out long after they leave her class, and colleagues consistently describe her as someone who goes above and beyond for both students and staff. Ms. Wright’s dedication, instructional excellence, and commitment to the whole child make her a model educator at Memorial Middle School.
Ms. Malone serves as a constant source of support and advocacy for our students and families. As our guidance counselor, she goes above and beyond to ensure students are cared for, understood, and placed in environments where they can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Her work is grounded in relationships, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of student needs. Ms. Malone’s presence strengthens our school community and ensures that students always have a trusted adult in their corner.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Wright and Ms. Malone on these well-deserved honors. Their work reflects the very best of Memorial Middle School and our shared commitment to serving students with excellence and care. |

Closing Out The Year With Spirit |
Dear Memorial Families,
We are excited to kick off Spirit Week this week as we head into the holiday season. Spirit Week is a fun way for students to build community, show school pride, and enjoy the season together. Participation is optional, and all attire should remain school-appropriate and aligned with our dress code.
Here’s what we have planned:
Monday (12/15): Wear Holiday Colors
Students are encouraged to wear their wing color: • 200 Wing – Red • 300 Wing – Green • 400 Wing – Blue • 500 Wing – Gold
Tuesday (12/16): Deck Your Neck Wear a festive accessory such as a holiday scarf, necklace, or hat.
Wednesday (12/17): Holiday Pajama Day
Festive pajamas, flannel, or onesies are welcome. Pajamas must be appropriate for school.
Thursday (12/18): Holiday Movie Character Day Dress as your favorite holiday movie character.
Friday (12/19): Ugly Sweater / Crazy Holiday Socks Day Show off your most festive (and comically bad) holiday sweater or socks.
We look forward to a week filled with school spirit, smiles, and togetherness. Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support in helping us make Memorial a joyful and inclusive place for all students.

i-Ready progress gives you a clear, up-to-date picture of how your child is doing in reading and math. Because i-Ready is adaptive, it adjusts questions based on your child’s answers and pinpoints strengths and skill gaps. It also produces reports right after students finish, so you are not waiting weeks for results.
Here’s what to look for when you review your child’s i-Ready progress:
Overall placement (how close they are to grade-level expectations)
Domain results (which skills need support)
Growth over time from one diagnostic to the next
Next Diagnostic Window: Our next i-Ready diagnostic window opens January 5. Please keep an eye out for details from your child’s teacher and take a few minutes to review results when they come in.
