Parent Partnership: Recalibration

Dear Memorial Families,

As we wrap up the first marking period, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued partnership. Together, we are building the kind of school culture that nurtures connection, collaboration, and growth.

It’s easy, in our busy lives, for our voices to emerge only when challenges arise. Yet, the school culture we envision—a culture that thrives on trust and mutual respect—requires constant communication. Now is the perfect time to share your feedback, thoughts, and concerns as we reflect on our progress and align our efforts toward our collective vision for Memorial.

Great schools don’t happen by chance; they are built through intentionality and the active participation of everyone in the community. Let’s continue to live out the “connect” piece of our vision. Your voice is integral to the success of this journey, and I invite you to join us in shaping Memorial into the vibrant, inclusive, and thriving school we know it can be.

Thank you for your continued partnership!

Vision

Dress Code: Why Have It?

At Memorial, our dress code is more than a set of rules—it’s a shared commitment to fostering an environment where every student can focus on learning, building confidence, and cultivating a sense of belonging. Research shows that clear and consistent dress codes can contribute to improved focus in the classroom, reduced peer pressure, and a stronger sense of school identity.

By adhering to our dress code, we aim to support students in several important ways:

  • Creating a Distraction-Free Environment: A standardized dress policy minimizes distractions, allowing students to channel their energy toward academic achievement and personal growth.

  • Promoting Equity: The dress code helps reduce economic and social pressures, encouraging students to be valued for who they are rather than what they wear.

  • Instilling Life Skills: Following a dress code cultivates responsibility and understanding professional norms, which are valuable skills for college and career readiness.

We deeply appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these principles at home. When we uphold the dress code together, we strengthen the culture of respect, focus, and pride that defines our school community.

Thank you for working hand-in-hand to ensure that Memorial remains a place where all students feel supported, valued, and ready to thrive. Click here to review the dress code policy.

After School Clubs: Late Bus Clarification 🚌

We want to ensure that all families have accurate information about the late bus operations provided by the Willingboro Township Board of Education. The late bus service is designed to support students who stay after school for clubs, instructional support, and school-sponsored co-curricular activities.

To clarify:

  • Eligibility: Only students eligible for daily transportation can use the late bus service.

    • Grades K-8: Must live more than two miles from school.

  • Schedule: Late buses run Monday through Thursday, except on early dismissal days.

  • Stops: Late buses utilize centralized stops that differ from regular bus stops. With a few exceptions, these stops are primarily located at the nearest elementary school.

For Memorial students, the following stops are available:

  • J.C Stuart E.C.D.C.

Phone

Cell Phone Reminder

We understand that staying connected with your child is important. However, we kindly ask all parents to respect Memorial’s cell phone policy to minimize disruptions during the school day.

Our policy is simple: phones must be off and away while at school.

Texting or calling students during school hours creates unnecessary distractions and can impact the learning environment. To ensure consistency and accountability, the following steps will be taken if the policy is not followed:

  1. First Violation: The phone will be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day.

  2. Second Violation: The phone must be picked up by a parent or guardian.

  3. Third Violation: The phone will need to be checked in daily with Mr. Morgan.

We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a focused and productive learning atmosphere for all students. Should you need to contact your child during the day, please call the main office, and we’ll assist as needed.

Thank you for your support!
