Memorial Message

Adapt. Believe. Connect.

It Takes A Village

Recently, there has been an unfortunate incident involving students resolving conflicts through physical means. In addition, some students have used their cell phones to record and share footage of these actions, which not only glorifies the behavior but also reinforces negative perceptions that some may hold about our community. While these instances do not define who we are, they serve as a reminder of the challenges we face as we work toward building a culture of respect, growth, and unity.

As a school committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment, we cannot turn a blind eye to harm within our community. It is vital that we work together—school and families alike—to model and teach our children more positive ways to handle conflicts and emphasize the importance of kindness, empathy, and accountability. By addressing these behaviors directly, we can prevent further harm and ensure that Memorial Middle School remains a place where every student feels safe and valued.

Please consider the following articles to support this:

  • Digital Citizenship Resources

I encourage you to speak with your child about the dangers of resorting to violence and the impact that sharing such images or videos can have. Let’s continue to be the village our children need, supporting one another and helping them navigate challenges in ways that build trust and understanding. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for reinforcing these messages at home.

Dressing For Success

As we continue to build a positive and inclusive culture at Memorial Middle School, I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of our dress code. Lately, some students have been creatively interpreting the dress code by wearing items such as sweatpants, leggings, and jeans, which are not part of our approved guidelines. The dress code not only sets the tone for the respectful and focused learning environment we strive to create, but it also helps us prevent issues like bullying related to attire.

We ask for your support in reinforcing the dress code with your child at home, as it plays a crucial role in fostering a community where all students can thrive academically and socially. Please take a moment to review our dress code by clicking the link below, and thank you for your continued partnership in making Memorial a place where learning, growth, and joy are at the forefront.

Student of the Month & More

At Memorial Middle School, we are excited to kick off our PBSIS incentives, Student of the Month program, and Student Roundtables as part of our ongoing effort to recognize and celebrate the greatness of our students. Through PBSIS, students can earn rewards to spend at our school store, participate in Lion’s Day activities, and more. Additionally, our Student of the Month recognition highlights those who embody our school’s values, while Student Roundtables provide a platform for students to share their ideas and feedback directly with administration. These initiatives are key to fostering the culture of growth and collaboration we envision. Please encourage your child to get involved and share in these opportunities!
